座敷
Zashiki (living area)

This area was built at the beginning of the Showa era (1926). Construction was completed just as Tokyo was bidding to hold the Olympics. To commemorate this, the Olympic mark was incorporated into the upper part of the entrance. Disappointingly, Tokyo was not granted to hold the games on that occasion.
Displayed in the tokonoma, the enclave that is part of the traditional Japanese Shoin-zo architectural style, there is a scroll hanging on the wall that was written by Mr. Mizuno Rentaro, the son of the feudal lord of the Iwasaki area and who later became a Minister of the Interior. The scroll by Mr. Mizuno was made by way of celebrating the occasion of the Showa Emperor of Japan purchasing miso and soy sauce from the Ishimago factory.
On the shelf, is displayed a replica of the Chawan bowl that was gifted to the Emperor by Mr. Mizuno.
